HOw much Holiday decor do I need in my home?
There is really no right answer to how much holiday decor you need. It’s up to you. Add as little or as much as makes you happy.
Remember to try to purchase universal pieces that can be placed in different areas in the home. This allows you to reuse pieces over and over without it feeling like a repeat of last years holiday decor.
I love how functional and universal these farmhouse holiday decor pieces are as they will allow a multitude of uses over the years. (Examples of some universal pieces: blankets, signs, candles, wooden beads, wooden reindeer)
Make the holiday personal with tradition
One of the best ways to enjoy the holiday and have your house feel like a holiday home is to incorporate Holiday traditions.
Our family has quite a few. We hang our decorations and decorate the tree together every year with the Christmas music blaring and hot cocoa’s.
We string cereal and popcorn. We bake all the yummy cookies from scratch for friends and family.
We also pull out the elf on the shelf which has become a family favorite. My older kids actually love to do all the hiding of the elves and their elf helpers(the reindeer and dog our collection keeps growing).
We also pick up the new accessories every year(last years was a mini suitcase of random things including a swing, hook, clothing and more).
What are your family holiday traditions?
I would love to hear about them. We are always adding a new tradition or two every year to make each year even more special.
