HOw to create a dream wardrobe with stitch fix
Have you every wondered how to get the perfect wardrobe?
Are you struggling to create the perfect closet of clothes and accessories?
Does your dream closet just seem so far out of reach? I’ve been there girly. I get it.
When you wake up and your closets full of things you wore once and never touched again, but you still feel like you can’t get dressed.
You need a closet revamp from one time pieces to quality items you can wear over and over again. You need to create a dream wardrobe.
What are wardrobe staples?
Wardrobe staples are pieces of clothing or accessories that can be used repeatedly in a multitude of ways. Pieces that fulfill a specific need in you closet.
Example: black pants These can be used for a variety of needs. Date night, work wear, attending an event, ect.
What should every girl own and/or what should be in every women’s closet?
This is a tricky question that really can only be answered by you.
You need to make a list of the activities that you complete or participate in and the wardrobe pieces that are needed to do so.
If you are a classic corporate business women, then you need to consider the pieces needed to attend work. Black pants, skirts, dresses, work blouses.
If you are a Mom, maybe you prefer yoga pants and jeans and they should be a core part of your wardrobe staples. Cute t-shirts, tank tops, chambray button down top, or flannels.
For me, my wardrobe is very casual. Yoga pants and ripped jeans are a must. But I still enjoy looking classy and fancy 1-2 times per week for events and or date night with the hubby so that is planned into my wardrobe as well.
You can GET A FREE printable to help you create your own Dream Closet Wish list of wardrobe staples in the KK Simply Creates free resource library.
Really what you should have and what you need in your wardrobe or closet depends on YOU and your lifestyle.
How can I be more stylish?
Being more stylish is easier then you would think. The key is finding pieces that can mix and match together. Then you can add trendy accessories without spending very much money every season.
Here is an example: Classic black pants and a black top with a knitted scarf, belt and leopard flats. All are wardrobe staples for me that I can mix and match with a ton of looks for a stylish touch.

How to build a wardrobe?
To build a wardrobe that is interchangeable and won’t go out of style with each season it is crucial to build your wardrobe up with wardrobe staples that can be used in a multitude of ways.
I have done this through making a list of pieces that I need to add to my wardrobe and then looking for those pieces while I’m out and about.
Example: I have a few weddings coming up for summer. I am looking for a floral dress and or a classic black dress. This way I can add accessories to wear the same dress to a few events and re-purpose the same dress with leggings and boots in the fall to continue using the pieces.
If I simply pick a dress just for that wedding the likely hood of reusing it is very slim. But picking a piece that is universal allows me to add it to my wardrobe staples. Stitch fix makes searching for these pieces even easier. I can add a note to my stylist that I need to attend a few summer weddings and to please send dresses with floral or a classic black dress. Then when my fix comes I try on the dresses that were hand picked for me in my size and price range at home. It’s amazing.
Mommy shopping struggles
Being a Mom can make shopping become an exercise of frustration. You take your kids load them up in the car, finally get to the store and your toddler dumps apple juice and cheerios everywhere.
Then you get to the dressing room and the screaming and screeching begins. Your kiddos are climbing everywhere or your trying to fit a stroller in and out of the dressing room.
And forget trying to check out or considering using a coupon cause the kids are beyond done by then and so are you.
By the time you get home you have no idea what you bought or if you will ever wear it. Right!?!
I get it. It sucks.
Then you finally get that date night with your hubby, but your clothes and closet suck. You feel like a total frump.
Definitely an exercise in frustration. Don’t worry there is a way better way.
